Questions to Ask Denver Realtors

When you’re ready to buy or sell a home, it’s important that you find a realtor to help you along the way. But, not just any realtor will do! Make sure you take the time to interview different Denver realtors until you have found one that is the perfect fit. Here are the questions you should always ask before making a decision:

Can you help me with other aspects of buying or selling?
Although it is not required, some realtors go above and beyond to help their clients with every aspect of the process. Need help finding a mortgage lender? How about help with finding someone who can help you move your belongings from your old to your new home? Ask each realtor you speak with whether they can give you tips in these areas.

Can I have some references?
A realtor who has nothing to hide will have no problem handing over a few references so you can speak with customers who have worked with him or her before. Ask these references about the realtor’s responsiveness, helpfulness, and drive to help you buy or sell a home.

How do you prefer to communicate?
It’s important that you find a realtor who communicates in the same way that you do. If you hate talking on the phone, but your realtor loves it, this isn’t a good fit. You will end up getting agitated with the phone calls and voicemails from someone who is just trying to do his job. To avoid this issue, choose a realtor who has a similar communication style to you.

How many clients are you working with?
Find out how many clients each agent is working with to determine how much time he will have to devote to helping you. After you ask how many he currently has, be sure to follow up by asking him if there is a maximum number he works with at once. That way, you know things won’t drastically change if he picks up new clients shortly after you begin working with him.

Is real estate your full time job?
To be successful in real estate, you have to commit to it 100%. But, some people still look at being a realtor as a side job. Find an agent who is completely dedicated to real estate, otherwise you will be low on their list of priorities.

How do you plan on marketing the home?
This question only applies to sellers, but it is a very important one to cover with your potential realtors. Discover how creative each agent is and how much effort they are willing to put into selling your home by asking how they plan on marketing it to buyers and other agents.
